Join our dynamic team for the 2027 Data Scientist Internship Programme in Property and Casualty Insurance, based in either London or Reigate. This eight-week internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of insurance consulting and technology, where you will contribute to impactful projects from day one.

Responsibilities

• Engage in an eight-week internship with the P&C Insurance team, gaining practical experience within the ICT business.
• Utilize data science methodologies to analyze data and generate meaningful insights.
• Present analytical findings to both internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the UK and globally.
• Enhance technical skills through hands-on project involvement and team collaboration.
• Execute data science projects that include the creation, evaluation, and implementation of machine learning models, as well as writing high-quality code.
• Learn and utilize open-source tools and proprietary technology solutions relevant to the insurance sector.
• Participate in structured early-career training and continuous learning from experienced team members.

Requirements

• Demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills, with a passion for extracting value from data and solving complex commercial challenges.
• Have experience with coding or data-processing languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
• Show genuine interest in data science developments, including advancements in Machine Learning and Generative AI.
• Possess excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts in an engaging manner to diverse audiences.
• Be personable, approachable, and eager to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
• Exhibit a willingness to learn and innovate.
• Be comfortable using AI tools, with a basic understanding of their advantages and limitations; familiarity with concepts like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Be in your penultimate year of university studies.
• Be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree, with A-level Mathematics at grade A or above, and a minimum of 136 UCAS points from three A levels or equivalent qualifications.
