During your internship, you will collaborate with consultants, data scientists, and technology professionals on projects that shape the future of the bank. Your Role

In this position, you will:

• Support the delivery of projects within Group Internal Consulting, focusing on AI and Machine Learning initiatives.
• Conduct research and analyze data to provide insights for client engagements and business transformation projects.
• Assist in the development, testing, and documentation of innovative solutions to address business challenges.
• Collaborate with various teams across the bank, contributing to presentations, workshops, and stakeholder communications.
• Learn about consulting methodologies and project delivery in a global financial institution.
• Support project teams in identifying opportunities to enhance processes and improve client experiences through technology.

Your Team

Group Internal Consulting (GIC) is UBS’s internal consulting unit, comprising a dynamic and diverse team of over 500 professionals across five regions. As part of the Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO), GIC partners with all divisions and functions to drive transformation and change across UBS. Projects span strategy, operating model design, business transformation, digital innovation, data analytics, and emerging technologies.

Your Expertise

We are looking for candidates who:

• Are in the penultimate or final year of their bachelorâ??s or masterâ??s degree.
• Have or are on track for at least a 2.1 (UK grading system) or equivalent in their first undergraduate degree.
• Show a strong interest in AI, Machine Learning, data analytics, and emerging technologies.
• Demonstrate analytical thinking and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Have basic experience in programming, data analysis, or related coursework.
• Are familiar with Python or other programming languages and eager to develop technical skills further.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams.
• Are curious, proactive, and eager to learn from new experiences.
• Can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Are interested in business transformation, consulting, and the financial services industry.

It would be advantageous if you have:

• Completed coursework or personal projects involving AI, machine learning, or data analytics.
• Experience with Python libraries such as pandas, NumPy, or scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, prompt engineering, or Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Participated in hackathons or student societies that demonstrate initiative and teamwork.
