This role is part of the AI Governance and Product Security organization within the Chief AI Office, focusing on ensuring the security and trustworthiness of AI technologies used in Lenovo’s product development processes. The successful candidate will work across various business and product units to ensure AI tools are compliant with company standards and international regulations, and that products are developed following industry best practices for security.

The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the technical security assurance and enablement of secure agentic AI systems across Lenovo. This involves developing and applying practical security controls and responsible AI management patterns for AI agents, assessing high-risk use cases, and driving the implementation of controls that facilitate safe adoption in both customer-facing and internal solutions. The role requires a combination of deep AI security expertise and a strong focus on delivery, translating AI security risks into actionable technical controls, collaborating directly with engineering teams through design, testing, and remediation phases, and establishing scalable assurance practices for agentic AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery of the Agentic AI Security and Assurance roadmap, including setting priorities, defining technical deliverables, measuring adoption, and tracking remediation efforts.
  • Establish and maintain security standards, reference architectures, and control patterns for AI agents, covering identity management, permissions, tool and API use, data access, memory management, human oversight, logging, and containment strategies.
  • Lead security risk assessments, threat modeling exercises, and assurance reviews for high-risk agentic AI applications, platforms, and significant design changes.
  • Create and implement testing scenarios to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in agentic AI systems.
  • Define requirements for discovery, inventory management, runtime visibility, monitoring, and control tooling for agentic AI, working closely with operations teams for deployment and ongoing management.
  • Support investigations into major security incidents involving agentic AI and incorporate lessons learned into evolving standards, controls, and assurance practices.
  • Occasionally travel domestically and internationally (about 5-20%) for meetings and collaborative efforts.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in designing, deploying, validating, and operationalizing security controls across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience with threat modeling, security assessments, and remediation for applications, cloud services, APIs, or AI-enabled systems.
  • Strong understanding of security risks specific to agentic AI, including identity and access management, API security, data flow security, prompt injection vulnerabilities, privilege boundaries, logging, and human oversight mechanisms.
  • Experience in designing or evaluating security controls within cloud environments, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, identity services, and data platforms.
  • Familiarity with security guidelines such as OWASP recommendations for large language models and agentic applications, MITRE ATLAS, and cloud provider-specific AI security guidance.
  • Ability to participate in incident response and security operations related to product security issues.
  • Relevant security certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Educational background with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in product security, application security, cloud security, or related security disciplines.

  • Private medical insurance coverage.
