Qualifications Bachelor’s
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time

Capgemini is seeking an experienced AI Platform Engineer to join their innovative team working on cutting-edge AI infrastructure for financial services. The role involves developing and maintaining core platform components that support AI products for banks, insurers, and health organizations. The work environment is hybrid, combining work from company offices, client sites, and home, with the understanding that full remote work is not available.

As part of the role, you will be responsible for building and managing critical infrastructure such as the model gateway, which handles routing, failover, and cost attribution for inference calls. You will also develop the agent runtime environment that manages planning loops and tool calls, ensuring seamless orchestration of AI agents in production settings. Additionally, you will create evaluation systems that verify model releases, including datasets, regression gates, and calibration processes to uphold high standards of safety and performance.

Further responsibilities include designing guardrail engines to enforce safety standards, developing shared services like case management, connectors, tenancy, and metering to avoid duplication across teams, and managing pipelines that convert production data into datasets for reinforcement learning and model fine-tuning. Ensuring the reliability, latency, and cost-efficiency of these components is essential, along with providing self-service tools and documentation for product engineers to use independently.

You will work closely with product teams to embed new shared services within specific product lines, supporting their transition to platform-wide solutions once validated. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in production engineering with Python and a systems language such as Go or Rust, along with practical knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and large language model deployment techniques.

Experience with agent orchestration frameworks, evaluation harnesses, and model fine-tuning pipelines is required. The role also demands expertise in guardrail engineering, AI observability, reinforcement learning infrastructure, or multi-tenant SaaS systems, especially within regulated industries like banking or insurance. Daily use of AI coding assistants and a strong depth of knowledge in several of these areas will set candidates apart.

Capgemini offers a competitive total rewards package, including flexible benefits, wellbeing programs, and extensive training opportunities. The company is committed to diversity and inclusion, being a Disability Confident Employer, and welcomes candidates with disabilities to apply. The role is based in London, with a hybrid working pattern, and visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
