This position is part of our Analytics organization, which is crucial for decision-making across our three-sided marketplace. As a hybrid role, you will work on-site three days a week.

The Analytics Engineering team is a key component of Deliverooâ??s Analytics organization, consisting of over 70 professionals across the UK and India. This team is embedded within product and business domains, responsible for the pipelines, models, and metrics that drive decision-making at scale. The discipline is rapidly evolving, focusing on AI-driven data products and empowering self-service data users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Analytics Engineers within a defined business domain, focusing on their performance, development, and wellbeing.
  • Manage the Analytics Engineering roadmap for your domain, prioritizing investments and building cases for them with business and product stakeholders.
  • Promote a data products mindset by ensuring clear ownership, SLAs, observability, and data contracts are integrated into team operations.
  • Maintain a strong technical presence by reviewing data models and SQL, guiding architectural decisions, and providing hands-on support when necessary.
  • Contribute to organization-wide decisions regarding tools, standards, and processes that shape Analytics Engineering practices beyond your team.
  • Foster a high-performing and inclusive team culture through regular feedback, addressing performance challenges, and conducting effective team rituals.
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team to attract and hire diverse talent for the Analytics Engineering team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence Engineering, or Data Engineering role, with strong SQL skills that are actively utilized.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team of individual contributors, with a successful track record in developing team members and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ability to own and execute a technical roadmap for a specific domain, delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of the modern Analytics Engineering stack, including cloud data warehousing, transformation tools, data modeling, and data quality practices.
  • Comfortable engaging with and influencing senior business and product stakeholders, aligning analytics investments with domain priorities.
