Celonis is seeking a highly skilled Applied Value Engineer to join their team in London, United Kingdom. This role involves working closely with strategic global clients to diagnose their operational and strategic challenges, and then designing and implementing tailored AI solutions that deliver measurable business value. The engineer will be responsible for translating client needs into technical projects, prototyping advanced AI systems on the Celonis platform, and demonstrating their impact to senior leadership, including C-suite executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand client requirements and industry-specific pain points, translating these into actionable AI projects.
- Develop and prototype state-of-the-art AI solutions, focusing on industry-specific operational issues, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and compliant with enterprise standards.
- Lead the full lifecycle of Proof-of-Value initiatives, deploying large language models (LLMs) and agent-based AI systems with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tools, and safety measures.
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise data systems, identity management, and compliance frameworks to ensure smooth deployment and operation.
- Engage with senior stakeholders through presentations, demos, and whiteboarding to showcase the business impact of AI solutions and ensure project success.
- Maintain ongoing advisory relationships with key accounts, ensuring projects meet their value, adoption, and operational goals.
- Leverage industry expertise to develop reusable methodologies and assets, accelerating team delivery and client value realization.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least two years of experience in presales or value engineering roles supporting AI transformations, with a focus on Proof-of-Value projects, ROI modeling, and strategic AI storytelling.
- Deep understanding of core business processes and industry landscapes such as supply chain and finance, with the ability to communicate effectively with business leaders and operational teams.
- Proficiency in Python, API design, SQL, and data integration, along with experience using ML/AI libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, XGBoost, or Hugging Face Transformers.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI systems, including LLM orchestration, tool use, function calling, RAG, prompt engineering, and enterprise workflow automation.
- Experience deploying, monitoring, and managing ML models and LLMs in cloud environments, with knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps practices on AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, or GCP Vertex AI.
- Understanding of cloud architecture, data governance, identity and access management, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Additional skills in optimization, statistical analysis, reinforcement learning, or forecasting are considered a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both technical and executive audiences, with fluent English and a professional executive presence.
- A MasterĂ¢??s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business engineering, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
