Anthropic is seeking an experienced AV Engineer specializing in builds and design to join their team in London. This role involves designing and implementing advanced AV systems that facilitate seamless collaboration across multiple office locations worldwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed AV system designs, including schematic and wiring diagrams, and programming these systems to meet specific operational needs. They will oversee the deployment of AV solutions from initial concept through to operational readiness, ensuring that new offices are fully equipped and functional from day one.
Key responsibilities include managing AV procurement, collaborating with architects and contractors during build phases, testing and integrating emerging AV technologies to enhance user experience, and developing automated solutions to improve system reliability and reduce operational overhead. The role also involves ensuring AV systems meet enterprise security standards in partnership with Security and IT teams, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and overseeing global AV operations to uphold service quality standards. Additionally, the engineer will manage relationships with AV vendors and support AV operations during events, including production and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of experience designing and deploying AV systems in large enterprise settings.
- Proficiency in control system programming, especially with Q-Sys or similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience with video conferencing platforms, notably Google Meet, with familiarity with Zoom and Cisco/Webex being a plus.
- Ability to interpret and produce technical AV drawings such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and rack elevations.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing (DSP), including echo cancellation, noise reduction, EQ, and automixing.
- Knowledge of enterprise video distribution, streaming, and broadcast standards.
- Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and confidence in diagnosing complex AV systems.
- Passion for delivering outstanding user experiences through innovative AV solutions.
- Desire to develop scalable AV infrastructure from the ground up.
