Capgemini is seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to join their Financial Services Business Unit within the Cloud & Custom Applications (C&CA) practice. This role is designed for a proactive, hands-on architect passionate about creating scalable, cloud-native solutions that address complex business challenges through modern integration and event-driven architectures. As a trusted advisor, you will continuously develop your expertise, help design innovative solutions, and contribute to building a future-ready, AI-aware workforce. Your collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will focus on delivering measurable results, fostering innovation, and creating lasting value for clients.

Work Environment and Responsibilities

The position offers a hybrid working model, where your daily work location will vary based on your role, needs, and business requirements. Your work environment may include company offices, client sites, and your home, but you will not be able to work entirely from home.

  • Design and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions tailored to business and operational needs.
  • Lead the creation of architecture frameworks supporting reliable, secure, and high-performance services.
  • Develop serverless processing capabilities to handle critical data and event streams efficiently.
  • Create seamless API and service integrations to enable smooth data exchange across enterprise systems.
  • Design event-driven architectures that are responsive, resilient, and loosely coupled.
  • Define data storage strategies that optimize for scalability, speed, and maintainability.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to convert requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Promote engineering excellence through governance, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support delivery teams by resolving complex technical issues to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Encourage innovation and ongoing learning, especially in AI-enabled approaches, to enhance delivery and workforce readiness.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, S3, API Gateway, and VPC.
  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with capabilities to develop, support, and troubleshoot applications.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for automation.
  • Proven success in executing cloud migration and modernization projects within enterprise settings.
  • Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, especially Amazon EKS.
  • Strong DevOps background, including designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
  • Experience automating build, test, deployment, and release workflows.
  • Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including observability, resilience, incident management, and operational support.
  • Ability to independently deliver development work, implement new features, and support end-to-end AWS solutions.
  • Knowledge of system performance tuning, security best practices, and operational excellence in cloud-native environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and collaboration skills.
