The Cloud Security Engineer role is pivotal in ensuring the security of the platforms that power Fin, now part of Salesforce. This position involves collaborating closely with infrastructure and product engineering teams to secure cloud environments, detect emerging threats, respond to incidents, and establish security foundations that allow teams to operate confidently.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS environments.
• Build and maintain protective and detective controls to enhance visibility into threats.
• Develop detection engineering capabilities to identify attacker behavior and reduce response times.
• Lead cloud security investigations and incident response activities in partnership with engineering teams.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation for incident management.
• Create automation to improve the scalability and effectiveness of security controls.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to embed security into cloud platforms and workflows.
• Develop and improve cloud security standards and best practices.
• Drive security initiatives from problem definition through implementation.
• Assess emerging threats and evolve defensive capabilities.
• Support the secure adoption of AI-assisted software development tools.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in cloud security or a related field.
• Strong experience with production AWS environments.
• Deep understanding of cloud security principles and attack techniques.
• Experience in building detection and monitoring capabilities.
• Hands-on experience in incident investigation and remediation.
• Experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.
• Strong programming skills and experience in automation.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native technologies.
• Ability to communicate security concepts effectively.
• Pragmatic approach to balancing security and engineering velocity.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in detection engineering or security operations at scale.
• Familiarity with cloud-native security platforms and monitoring.
• Experience applying AI in security workflows.
• Knowledge of AWS networking and security patterns.
