Thirdfort is seeking a dedicated Commercial Lead to oversee the growth and market expansion of their tenant referencing product. This role involves creating and executing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy, including defining how the product is positioned, messaging, and segmentation. The successful candidate will conduct market research to understand customer needs deeply and identify opportunities to differentiate the product in a competitive landscape.

The Commercial Lead will be responsible for driving product adoption through multi-channel marketing strategies, working with external partners to maximize reach. They will manage both new client acquisition and the retention and growth of existing customers, scaling the commercial operations as the customer base increases. An essential part of the role is representing the voice of the customer in product development, highlighting unmet needs, and suggesting improvements or innovative features.

Improving unit economics and scalability is also key, with a focus on reducing costs per reference through automation and artificial intelligence. The role involves defining success metrics, monitoring performance, and analyzing data to optimize messaging, campaigns, and channel mix for maximum impact.

Ideal candidates will have between five and ten years of experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments, such as scaleups or as former consultants now operating in commercial roles. They should have full ownership of a commercial target, including sales and account management, and be comfortable with sales, operational management, and marketing activities. Strong analytical skills are necessary, with the ability to work hands-on with data, generate reports, and make informed decisions. An entrepreneurial mindset is essential, with experience in building or scaling products or businesses from scratch, and a good understanding of unit economics and data analysis.

Preferred but not essential are experience in proptech, lettings, build-to-rent markets, or related sectors, as well as prior exposure to regulated environments or fintech. Experience in early-stage product development or launching new business models is also advantageous.
