Data Architect Overview

Capgemini is seeking an experienced and strategic Data Architect to take charge of designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions within the Banking and Financial Services industry. This role involves defining the future state of data architecture, leading data modernization efforts, and ensuring that data strategies are aligned with business goals, regulatory standards, and technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation and execution of comprehensive data architecture strategies that support banking sector objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
• Design target-state data architectures, including enterprise data models, canonical models, and domain-specific frameworks.
• Set standards, principles, and best practices for enterprise data management and architecture.
• Create scalable, secure, and high-performance data ecosystems such as Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Lakehouses, and cloud-native platforms, utilizing technologies like Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Develop data integration architectures that function across legacy systems, on-premises infrastructure, and cloud environments.
• Design data solutions supporting core banking domains such as risk management, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, treasury, payments, customer data, and financial crime prevention.
• Translate complex regulatory and business requirements into compliant, scalable data architectures.
• Drive data modernization initiatives, adopting innovative practices and technologies to improve data management.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure data architectures support analytics, reporting, and compliance needs.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data management, or information architecture roles.
• Significant experience working within banking and financial services, especially Tier-1 institutions.
• Proven ability to lead large data transformation projects and develop enterprise-scale data architectures.
• Expertise in designing Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Lakehouse architectures, and modern analytics platforms.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data modeling at conceptual, logical, and physical levels.
• Hands-on experience with data integration, ETL/ELT frameworks, event-driven architectures, and real-time data processing.
• Proficiency with cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Platform, Databricks, and Snowflake, along with modern cloud ecosystems.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with Big Data technologies.
• Experience implementing data governance, data quality, metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage solutions.
• Track record of delivering complex data projects driven by regulatory or business needs.
• Desirable skills include familiarity with Data Mesh and Data Product models, AI/ML architectures, banking modernization, digital transformation, and cloud migration.
• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and API-driven architectures is a plus.
