Data Architect Overview

Capgemini is seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and governance of enterprise-wide data systems. This role involves creating and maintaining comprehensive data models at all levelsâ??conceptual, logical, and physicalâ??ensuring they align with strategic business objectives and regulatory requirements.

The Data Architect will establish and uphold enterprise data standards, modeling practices, and architecture principles to support scalable and reusable data solutions. Responsibilities include analyzing source systems, assessing data dependencies, and identifying opportunities for data integration across complex banking ecosystems.

A key aspect of the role is developing enterprise taxonomies and reference data frameworks, including identifier crosswalks and entity resolution strategies, to improve data consistency and accuracy. The architect will define master data management patterns, including golden source data, and set standards for reference data governance and stewardship processes.

Designing graph data models is also central to this position, supporting the development of knowledge graphs and semantic data solutions. The candidate will enable relationship discovery and enhance data traceability by establishing standards for modeling nodes, relationships, measures, and provenance structures.

Data lineage and provenance architectures will be implemented to ensure data origins and transformations are transparent and traceable. The role also involves establishing data quality frameworks, controls, and monitoring systems to maintain high data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.

Collaboration with data engineering teams is essential to translate architecture designs into scalable solutions on modern data platforms like Snowflake and cloud ecosystems. The architect will define standards for metadata management and reusable data assets, supporting schema evolution, data integration, and data product development.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in banking or financial services, with strong skills in enterprise data modeling, taxonomy design, entity resolution, graph data modeling, data lineage, and data governance. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Snowflake is required, along with a solid understanding of risk, resilience, and regulatory data domains.
