We are seeking a dedicated DevOps Engineer for a late shift from 2 PM to 10 PM. In this role, you will tackle infrastructure challenges through software engineering and automation, focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks to enhance cloud infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
- Create programmatic infrastructure solutions using Python, Jinja2, and Terraform to manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) at scale.
- Utilize Puppet for configuration management and develop PowerShell automation to optimize Windows environments.
- Drive infrastructure standardization by developing automation frameworks that facilitate consistent deployments across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Accelerate infrastructure provisioning by enhancing Terraform code-generation platforms, allowing teams to produce validated infrastructure code from reusable templates.
- Improve system reliability by maintaining Puppet modules and configurations for managing Linux and Windows environments.
- Increase operational efficiency by creating PowerShell automation solutions for server management and Active Directory administration.
- Develop internal automation tools and APIs to simplify complex infrastructure workflows for engineering teams.
- Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines to enable automated validation and deployment of infrastructure changes.
- Implement testing strategies for infrastructure code to enhance software quality and reduce deployment risks.
- Collaborate with cloud, platform, and application teams to identify and automate manual processes, driving operational excellence.
- Create documentation and standards for automation frameworks to ensure long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and share best practices to continuously improve the quality and security of automation solutions.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Python development, focusing on structured and testable application code.
- Strong knowledge of Python packaging, virtual environments, and dependency management tools.
- Experience in building CLI tools and automation frameworks using Python.
- Hands-on experience with Jinja2 templating for creating reusable templates for infrastructure code generation.
- Proficiency in Terraform, including module design and state management, with experience in generating Terraform HCL programmatically.
- Familiarity with Terraform tooling such as tflint and terraform-docs.
- Experience with Puppet, including writing manifests and managing mixed Linux and Windows environments.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting for Windows Server administration and task automation.
- Solid experience with AWS services including EC2, EKS, and S3, with an understanding of CI/CD platforms.
- Comfortable working in both Linux and Windows Server production environments.
