Capgemini is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join their Energy Transition & Utilities practice as a Director focused on AI transformation within the Future Utility sector. This role involves leading major client engagements, shaping innovative proposals, and driving growth in AI-enabled business transformation initiatives across sectors such as Energy Networks, Water, Energy Retail, and Nuclear. The successful candidate will leverage their deep industry expertise and consulting experience to help clients embed AI into their operations, establish AI Centers of Excellence, and develop scalable adoption strategies.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for guiding large-scale transformation programs, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, and defining AI strategies, operating models, and roadmaps. You will also contribute internally by developing capabilities, assets, and thought leadership, supporting talent development, and fostering collaboration across teams and the wider Capgemini Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and shape significant business opportunities, proposals, and pursuits centered on AI, digital transformation, and operational modernization within the energy and utilities sectors.
- Build and nurture client relationships, expanding account footprints and developing market propositions and thought leadership to position Capgemini as a leader in AI-enabled transformation.
- Oversee the delivery of large AI-driven transformation projects, providing strategic guidance and acting as a trusted advisor to executive clients.
- Define AI strategies, operating models, governance frameworks, and business cases to support client transformation goals.
- Support clients in establishing AI Centers of Excellence and scaled adoption approaches, ensuring successful integration of AI into core business functions.
- Contribute to internal capability development, including creating reusable assets, accelerators, and intellectual property, as well as participating in recruitment and campaign development.
- Mentor and develop future leaders within the practice, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Develop market-facing thought leadership, including industry insights, whitepapers, and research, to enhance Capgeminiâ??s reputation as a leader in AI-enabled energy sector transformation.
Candidate Profile
- Significant experience in consulting or within the energy and utilities industry, with expertise in sectors such as Energy Networks, Water, or Retail.
- Proven success in delivering large-scale digital and AI transformation programs, with strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
- Deep understanding of AI opportunities, risks, and governance in regulated industries.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growth, innovation, and organizational change.
- Experience in developing propositions, services, and market offerings that leverage emerging technologies like generative AI, IoT, and digital twins.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, and talent development capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
