The UK water sector is currently undergoing a significant transformation, facing numerous challenges related to sustainability goals, regulatory demands, aging infrastructure, and rising customer expectations. Capgemini Invent is actively supporting some of the largest water companies in the UK through this transition, and as our demand for services grows, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Director to join our expanding Water Sector team within the Energy Transition & Utilities practice.

Your Role

As a key member of our Water Sector team, you will lead efforts in pursuing and delivering major advisory, consulting, and transformation projects across the water industry. Working closely with prominent UK water companies, your role will involve strengthening our market position and expanding our influence. As a Director, you will set strategic direction, foster business growth, cultivate relationships with senior clients, oversee complex projects, and support the development of our team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Spearhead proposal development, client pursuits, and industry engagement activities to promote Capgeminiâ??s offerings and secure new opportunities.
  • Project Delivery: Lead client engagements ensuring projects are delivered successfully, meeting quality standards, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Practice Development: Contribute to recruitment efforts, capability building, and the enhancement of service offerings within the practice.
  • Learning & Development: Mentor and coach team members, supporting their professional growth while continuing your own development.
  • Thought Leadership: Share insights through publications, participate in industry events, and contribute to market intelligence efforts.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, understanding their strategic needs and providing expert advice.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will possess extensive consulting experience within the UK water sector, with a history of working with major water companies. You should have exceptional consulting skills, proven success in developing new business propositions, and experience leading high-performing teams. Experience delivering digital transformation initiatives across water operations, waste management, or corporate functions is essential. You must have a strong grasp of regulatory challenges, market trends, and future sector directions. An entrepreneurial mindset, independence, and collaborative spirit are highly valued. Additionally, candidates should be passionate about coaching and mentoring others, with flexibility to travel and work at client sites as needed. Expertise across advisory, consulting, and transformation servicesâ??including digital solutions like AI, IoT, automation, and digital twinsâ??is required.
