The role of Director of Product Marketing at Diligent Corporation involves leading the development and execution of comprehensive go-to-market strategies for the company’s flagship product, Diligent Boards. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in SaaS solutions, capable of translating complex technologies such as APIs, AI, and data integrations into compelling customer value propositions. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and senior leadership to identify market opportunities, influence product development, and bring innovative solutions to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage end-to-end go-to-market strategies tailored to different customer segments and regions, ensuring differentiated positioning and messaging based on market insights.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to understand product roadmaps, technical features, and AI capabilities, translating these into clear benefits for customers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product-market fit, increase adoption, expand revenue streams, and drive growth.
  • Design and implement go-to-market strategies specifically for AI-powered products, translating AI and GenAI functionalities into tangible business value and market differentiation.
  • Build technical expertise to effectively communicate complex SaaS technologies, including APIs, automation, security, and AI features, partnering with technical teams to ensure messaging accuracy.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer profiles, buying behaviors, and market trends through Voice of Customer initiatives and market research, translating insights into strategic actions.
  • Identify growth opportunities within SMB and mid-market segments, including digital and product-led growth initiatives.
  • Provide sales, pre-sales, and customer success teams with compelling narratives, competitive intelligence, technical content, and sales tools like battlecards to enable effective customer engagement.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to execute campaigns that generate demand, accelerate pipelines, and increase revenue, while supporting pricing and packaging strategies in collaboration with Finance and Product teams.
  • Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, using data to optimize strategies, messaging, product launches, and campaigns continually.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Over 8 years of experience in B2B SaaS or product marketing, with a significant portion in a technology company.
  • At least 5 years of experience owning end-to-end go-to-market strategies within product marketing or technical product marketing roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SaaS solutions, including APIs, integrations, data, automation, and AI/GenAI technologies.
  • Experience in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for AI-enabled products and features.
  • Experience marketing to SMB and mid-market customers, understanding their unique buying journeys and growth models.
  • Solid foundation in core product marketing disciplines such as positioning, messaging, launches, competitive intelligence, and sales enablement.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret market and customer data into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence executive audiences.
  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in governance, risk, compliance, legal tech, cybersecurity, or enterprise SaaS sectors.
  • Familiarity with product-led growth models, digital acquisition, and usage-driven growth strategies.
  • Experience marketing to executive-level stakeholders such as General Counsels, CIOs, security teams, and other complex buying groups.
  • Knowledge of generative AI, large language models, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with pricing, packaging, monetization, and product-market fit initiatives.
