Water companies are required to innovate at scale, leveraging digital technologies such as data analytics, automation, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) to meet these challenges. Capgemini Invent is actively assisting some of the largest water providers in the UK to navigate this complex landscape.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director to join our expanding Water Sector team within the Energy Transition & Utilities practice. This role involves leading strategic initiatives, driving business growth, and managing high-level client relationships with major water companies across the UK.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Spearhead proposal development, bids, client pursuits, and industry events to promote Capgeminiâ??s offerings and expand our market presence.
  • Project Delivery: Lead complex client engagements, ensuring projects are delivered successfully in terms of quality, budget, and timelines.
  • Practice Development: Support recruitment efforts, enhance service offerings, and contribute to internal initiatives to strengthen the practice.
  • Learning & Development: Mentor and coach team members, fostering their professional growth while continuing your own development.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute insights, publish industry-related content, and participate in conferences to position Capgemini as a sector leader.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, understanding their strategic needs and regulatory environment.
  • Market and Industry Insight: Keep abreast of regulatory changes, industry trends, and future sector directions to inform strategic advice and service innovation.
  • Digital Transformation Initiatives: Lead deployment of AI, IoT, automation, and data analytics solutions tailored to water sector challenges.
  • Practice Growth: Drive capability building, develop new propositions, and expand Capgeminiâ??s footprint in the water industry.

Candidate Profile

  • Significant consulting experience within the UK water sector, with direct experience working with major water companies.
  • Proven consulting expertise from a leading consultancy or industry environment, with a history of leading teams and developing new business.
  • Experience managing large-scale digital transformation projects across water operations, waste management, or corporate functions.
  • Strong relationships with senior clients and an understanding of regulatory and market challenges.
  • Deep knowledge of the UK water industryâ??s future trends and regulatory landscape.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing talent within the team.
  • Flexibility to travel and work at client sites, including periods away from home.
  • Expertise in advisory and consulting services related to water operations, asset management, capital projects, and digital solutions such as AI, IoT, automation, and digital twins.
