As the Electronics Laboratory Lead, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the Bristol electronics laboratories at Graphcore, ensuring they are equipped for teams dedicated to advancing AI compute technology. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the labs, making certain that all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are optimized for critical engineering and operational tasks.

Your role will involve transforming complex lab requirements into structured and dependable environments that enable teams to work more efficiently. You will manage various aspects of the lab, including test equipment, infrastructure, ESD controls, logistics for incoming and outgoing goods, maintenance planning, and ensuring technical readiness.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will build and lead a team of technicians who will support a diverse range of lab users. This position is hands-on and requires a proactive approach to leadership, allowing you to shape the operational standards and processes within the labs. You will work closely with engineering teams to plan and configure technical lab setups, ensuring that all operations run smoothly.

Team and Culture

You will be part of the DC Engineering Team, collaborating closely with various departments including Facilities, Supply Chain, Quality, Product Test and Diagnosis, Infrastructure Solutions, and Hardware Engineering. The work environment is characterized by clear priorities, practical decision-making, and direct collaboration with teams utilizing the labs. You will have the authority to set standards, enhance processes, and address issues before they impede progress. Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a strong technical understanding of electronic test equipment and lab infrastructure, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting. Practical knowledge of ESD prevention and control systems, along with experience in audits and training, is essential. A deep understanding of health and safety requirements in electronics laboratory environments is also required.

Additionally, you should have experience coordinating subcontractors for maintenance, calibration, upgrades, or specialist technical services, as well as demonstrated leadership skills to effectively build, manage, and mentor a team of technicians.
