Our client is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to take a leading role in designing, architecting, and delivering complex software-enabled systems. This position is ideal for professionals looking to expand their expertise beyond hands-on coding into systems architecture, technical leadership, and multidisciplinary problem solving, while maintaining a close involvement in embedded software engineering tasks.
The successful candidate will collaborate with teams of software, electronics, systems, and mechanical engineers to develop innovative products across various industries and technological domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software and firmware for advanced embedded devices and physical hardware products.
- Define and establish the architecture for software and systems used in connected and embedded applications.
- Lead the technical delivery process, coordinating efforts across software, electronics, and systems engineering teams.
- Address integration issues, optimize system performance, and enhance reliability of complex systems.
- Work closely with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to define and implement effective technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to technical decision-making, and promote best practices within the team.
- Support the development of innovative technologies across multiple sectors and applications.
Candidate Requirements
- A university degree (minimum 2:1 classification) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Commercial experience in developing embedded software, firmware, or device-specific software.
- Experience working on complex embedded systems or hardware-based products.
- Strong understanding of systems architecture, integration, and software design principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working with cloud-connected systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
- Experience in application software development.
- Exposure to AI/ML technologies.
- Previous experience working in regulated environments.
