Celonis is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Enterprise Architect Director, a pivotal role in advancing our vision of Enterprise AI. This position involves leading a team of senior Enterprise Architects responsible for defining and executing the architecture, data, and cloud strategies for our most significant client accounts. The successful candidate will act as an executive sponsor, confidently engaging with C-level executives during both pre-sales and post-sales phases, and translating strategic business goals into actionable technical plans.

Your primary responsibility will be to empower and manage a team that supports our sales efforts by removing technical obstacles and fostering strong partnerships across various internal departments such as Sales, Value Engineering, Product Management, Data Operations, and Information Security. Your impact will be measured by metrics including customer acquisition, retention, upselling success, and overall contribution to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Enterprise Architects, overseeing architecture, data strategies, and cloud solutions tailored for large enterprise clients.
  • Act as a strategic partner during client engagements, presenting visions and technical solutions to executive stakeholders and security teams.
  • Drive innovation by guiding architecture designs that support enterprise modernization, capability mapping, and the integration of emergent AI technologies like Agentic AI.
  • Coordinate between Celonis’s product and engineering teams and client organizations to ensure delivery of high-quality technical services.
  • Assess clients’ IT landscapes to determine maturity levels and coach internal teams and partners on architecture, integration, and scalability best practices.
  • Create reusable assets and thought leadership content related to architecture and technological innovation.
  • Manage talent acquisition, mentorship, and performance management within your team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate across departments to facilitate technical solutions that support sales and customer success.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Over 20 years of relevant experience, including managing enterprise architecture teams at top consulting firms or software vendors.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic visions that connect technical solutions with business value.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to C-level executives and navigating complex negotiations.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture, capability mapping, modernization, and AI innovations like Agentic AI.
  • Strong technical background in data architecture, system integrations, automation, and data languages such as SQL and Python.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud-native architectures, SaaS solutions (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Dynamics CRM, ServiceNow), and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Experience with API ecosystems, legacy on-premise systems, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Educational qualification of MSc in Computer Science or related IT field.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, or Italian are a plus.
  • Preferred certifications include Celonis certifications, AWS/Azure/GCP cloud certifications, TOGAF, Zachmann, and industry tools like Mulesoft, Oracle, SAP, Talend, or Informatica.
  • Experience spanning multiple domains such as Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or HR, and exposure to at least two industries like Banking, Pharma, or Aerospace.
