As a Fault Studies Engineer Graduate, you will be part of the Science and Engineering Graduate Programme, starting in early September 2027, with a competitive salary of £37,500 per annum.

Throughout this 16-month programme, you will acquire specialized knowledge in fault studies, modeling, and nuclear safety analysis. Your contributions will be vital in assessing the responses of nuclear power plants during operational events and fault conditions, playing a key role in EDFâ??s mission towards An Electric Britain.

Your experience will include:

• Hands-on application of computational tools to model nuclear power stations.
• Performing simulations and technical analyses to assess safety systems.
• Providing operational teams with critical advice for safe reactor operations.
• Collaboration with various technical teams, including Reactor Physics and Radiation Protection.
• Participating in training focused on nuclear fundamentals and safety culture.

Your primary workplace will be at the Gloucester site, with opportunities for placements across different EDF locations, enhancing your understanding of the organization. Most placements will require you to be onsite three to five days a week, and EDF will assist with relocation support as necessary.

To qualify for this graduate programme, you must have achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:2 or higher in a relevant degree, alongside a strong interest in nuclear energy and engineering analysis. Additionally, you will need to meet Security Vetting requirements, typically necessitating UK residency for at least three of the last five years. An Assessment Centre will be held virtually on 10 November 2026, and attendance is mandatory for consideration.
