As a Forward Deployed Engineer I within Google Cloud Consulting, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between innovative AI products and their practical application in customer environments. This position is tailored for engineers who possess a high level of agency and a founder’s mindset, focusing on the hands-on development and deployment of AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a developer for sophisticated AI applications, transitioning from rapid prototypes to production-grade workflows that yield measurable ROI.
• Design and implement the integration between Google’s AI products and the customer’s existing infrastructure, including APIs and legacy data systems.
• Create high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure that AI systems meet standards for accuracy, safety, and latency.
• Identify common patterns and challenges within Google’s AI stack, transforming them into reusable modules or formal product feature requests for engineering teams.
• Collaborate with pre-sales and product teams to instill best development practices, ensuring the long-term success of projects and high user adoption.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in software development using Python or similar programming languages.
• Experience in building data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data utilizing vector databases and RAG-like architectures for enterprise AI solutions.
• Proven experience in taking AI-driven solutions from concept to launch and architecting AI systems on cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience leading technical discovery sessions with clients.
• Fluency in French or German, as this role involves customer interactions in these languages.
