Role Overview

We are seeking a Mid-level Full Stack Engineer with a stronger emphasis on backend development to support the evolution of internal systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate enjoys building scalable internal platforms and developer tools, while also being comfortable contributing to frontend tasks when necessary. Your work will involve developing APIs, automation processes, release pipelines, and engineering infrastructure that enhance how teams build and deploy features across Typeform. Collaboration with engineers and designers is key to improving tooling, workflows, and overall developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and internal tools used by various product teams.
• Improve the infrastructure that manages component distribution, assets, documentation, and release workflows.
• Support and enhance the main code repository (monorepo) to ensure it remains scalable and easy to maintain, boosting developer productivity.
• Work closely with frontend engineers and designers to implement shared patterns and tooling consistently across products.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, testing, and deployment processes, primarily using GitHub Actions.
• Enhance the reliability and performance of internal systems, including implementing observability and monitoring solutions.
• Assist other engineers in adopting shared tools and integrating them into their workflows.
• Create and update documentation and developer tools to facilitate onboarding and resource discoverability.
• Participate in platform improvement projects, such as migrating legacy systems, enhancing documentation platforms, automating processes, and developing sandbox environments.
• Engage in architecture discussions and propose scalable engineering solutions to support company growth.

Candidate Profile

• Experience working with JavaScript or TypeScript in production settings, demonstrating strong coding skills.
• Solid understanding of backend development principles, with experience in building APIs or internal services.
• Familiarity with Node.js and modern web frameworks like React or Next.js.
• Experience working with relational databases and understanding fundamental database design concepts.
• Knowledge of testing practices and software quality assurance.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and developer tooling to automate and streamline deployment processes.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams, including designers and engineers.
• Interest in developer experience, platform engineering, or internal tooling to improve internal systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a SaaS company focused on product development.
• Exposure to frontend infrastructure or shared platform tooling.
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools.
• Experience contributing to monorepos or internal platform tooling.
• Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
