Skanska is excited to announce the opening of applications for the Graduate Civil Engineer position as part of our 2027 Development Programme in Peterborough, starting in September 2027. As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will join the Infrastructure @one Alliance team, focusing on the planning, design, and delivery of clean water and wastewater projects across East Anglia. Over the course of two years, you will gain practical experience, structured learning, and mentorship to develop both technical and interpersonal skills essential for your career.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and construction of water treatment facilities, pipelines, pumping stations, and flood defense systems.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys to aid in project development.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineers.
• Support project management and engage with stakeholders throughout various project phases.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all work activities.

Requirements

• Must be a final-year student or a recent graduate with an ICE-accredited degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in sustainable infrastructure and the water sector.
• Show enthusiasm for innovation, sustainability, and making a positive societal impact through teamwork and proactive problem-solving.
• Be an eager learner committed to personal and professional growth, with a willingness to pursue professional qualifications or chartered status.
• Possess a valid driving license or be willing to obtain one within the first year of employment, as site visits across the UK are required.
