As a Graduate Energetic Materials Scientist at BAE Systems, you will play a crucial role in supporting various activities within the Land UK business. Your primary focus will be on assisting in the development of new technologies for energetic materials, as well as supporting product and process development across different production scales.

This position is integral to the Engineering and Technology teams, ensuring that products meet stringent quality and performance standards. You will work closely with experts in the field, providing necessary advice and support on energetic materials.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering and Technology teams in the development of new energetic materials and processes.
• Provide support to subject matter experts in the field of energetic materials.
• Conduct practical assessments of energetic materials in laboratory or engineering environments.
• Prepare essential safety documentation, including risk assessments and COSHH assessments.

The Land Team

Your work will contribute to equipping the British Armed Forces and international clients with a variety of munitions products, including small arms ammunition, heavy artillery, tank ammunition, warheads, and payloads, with projects like the Challenger 3 Battle Tank.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Chemistry, Physics, or Chemical Engineering.
