Graduate Procurement Overview

As a Graduate Procurement candidate at BAE Systems, you will engage in a dynamic role that involves working closely with both Category Management and Integrated Project Teams. Your primary focus will be to ensure that procurement activities deliver value for money through effective management and supplier coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Category Management and Integrated Project Teams to ensure value for money through effective management.
• Coordinate supplier selection and manage contract negotiations for third-party requirements in relevant categories and projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Produce key reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Manage the supply base through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to monitor and improve performance.
• Receive requisitions and process Purchase Orders in line with Procurement procedures.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and avoidance through effective supplier negotiations.
• Maintain accurate supplier order books and ensure data integrity in the ERP system.
• Process supplier returns and ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
• Engage with suppliers to address key performance indicators and resolve issues at a senior level.

Qualifications

• Must have obtained or be predicted to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Supply Chain, Business, or Finance-related subjects.
• Ability to demonstrate effective relationship management skills with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Understanding of budget requirements and cost management strategies.

This role is located in Rochester, Kent, and is part of the Electronic Systems business unit, which has been delivering leading-edge controls and display solutions for over 70 years.
