Cohere is seeking a strategic and experienced professional to take on the role of Head of Corporate Development. This position involves leading the company’s efforts in identifying, evaluating, and executing mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and investment opportunities that align with Cohere’s growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving the strategic planning and implementation of corporate development initiatives, including negotiations and deal structuring.
- Identifying potential business opportunities and conducting comprehensive due diligence, covering financial analysis, market research, and strategic alignment.
- Negotiating terms and closing deals that add value to the company.
- Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new acquisitions and partnerships.
- Staying informed about industry trends, competitive movements, and emerging technologies to guide strategic decisions.
- Managing relationships with external advisors, investors, and industry contacts involved in corporate development activities.
- Preparing detailed reports, strategic proposals, and presentations for executive teams and the board of directors.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience in corporate development, M&A, or strategic investment roles, preferably within the technology or SaaS sectors.
- Strong skills in financial modeling, valuation, and analytical assessment of potential deals.
- Proven ability to negotiate and close complex transactions successfully.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience working with senior executives and presenting complex information clearly.
- Educational background with a bachelorĂ¢??s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields; additional qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
