As the Head of the JS/TS Ecosystem at JetBrains, you will be responsible for shaping the mid- and long-term strategy for our products tailored for JavaScript and TypeScript developers. This position emphasizes the alignment of product direction, go-to-market strategies, and external partnerships within the dynamic web development landscape. Your role will involve interpreting ecosystem signalsâ??from frameworks and tools to community practicesâ??and translating them into actionable strategic priorities for JetBrains products.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic vision for JetBrains products aimed at web developers.
- Identify and initiate new product directions to address significant gaps in the market.
- Collaborate with product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and partnership teams to ensure alignment on strategic goals.
- Monitor and analyze trends and changes within the web development community, including frameworks and tooling.
- Establish and nurture relationships with influential figures in the web ecosystem, including companies, open-source projects, and community leaders.
- Work alongside engineering and quality assurance leads to prioritize and plan project work.
- Act as a representative for JetBrains at key industry events and meetings.
- Coordinate with other product ecosystems when relevant areas intersect, such as databases, Go, and AI.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of the web development landscape, including JavaScript, TypeScript, major frameworks (particularly React), Node.js, and various development tools.
- Proven experience in setting product direction based on market demands, ideally in a Product Manager or Head of Product role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives across product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and business development, either directly or through cross-functional leadership.
- Strong skills in external engagement, including building partnerships, community involvement, and effective communication with executives.
- Ability to leverage data for decision-making, integrating community feedback with product usage metrics and business outcomes.
