Join us for a 10â??12 month Industrial Placement in Civil Engineering, focusing on Site Development in Birmingham. This internship offers you the chance to work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects that add value to our clients while fostering your curiosity and creativity.

Throughout your placement, you will engage in regular learning sessions with our leadership team, participate in site visits to local projects, and enjoy various social events designed to enhance your learning and development. Our goal is to provide a pathway for students to return to our other programs, whether for another internship or a graduate position.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, analyses, and designs while preparing design reports, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Develop infrastructure designs for urban development sites, including urban transport, site infrastructure, pavements, utilities, and drainage solutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines within Arup.
• Engage with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders, including conducting site visits.
• Utilize specialized analysis and design software such as Infodrainage, GIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, ProjectWise, ACC, Navisworks, Infraworks, Plant3D, InfoWorks, Python, and Copilot.

Qualifications and Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, with proficiency in Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Demonstrated passion for sustainable development and a commitment to creating a better world.
• Ability to think critically and embrace innovative ideas while challenging the status quo.
• Possess a growth mindset, showing eagerness to learn and explore new methodologies.
• Adaptability to tackle various challenges as they arise.
