Capgemini is seeking a highly skilled Lead AI Engineer to join their team, focusing on designing, building, and deploying advanced AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI systems suitable for enterprise-scale applications. This role involves bridging the gap between AI prototypes and real-world business solutions by embedding data and AI into operational environments, ensuring solutions are scalable, responsible, and deliver measurable business value.
The Lead AI Engineer will be responsible for creating comprehensive end-to-end AI and ML systems, covering data preparation, model development, deployment, feature store management, and continuous monitoring. They will leverage the latest Generative AI and Agentic Frameworks such as ADK, Langgraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, and Llamaindex, translating business needs into scalable cloud architectures across platforms like Azure, GCP, and AWS.
Leadership is a key aspect of this role, including guiding multi-disciplinary teams to execute complex AI projects, designing and deploying Generative AI solutions like RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and orchestrating large language models across cloud environments. Safety, ethics, and explainability are embedded throughout the AI lifecycle to ensure responsible AI practices.
Collaboration with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders is essential to ensure AI initiatives generate tangible value. The role also involves contributing to business development through client demos, proposals, and showcasing delivery patterns, as well as developing reusable frameworks to accelerate project delivery and internal capability growth.
Ideal candidates will have experience working within consulting or industry environments with a consulting mindset, including engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A strong background in MLOps, cloud-native architectures, and Generative AI frameworks is required. Hands-on experience with cloud deployment, scaling AI solutions, and CI/CD practices is essential. Familiarity with AI evaluation techniques and modern data architectures is advantageous.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, having resided in the country for the past five years.
