Lead Solutions Engineer, Apps & Gaming Overview

TikTok is seeking a highly skilled Lead Solutions Engineer to join their Apps & Gaming team based in London. This role involves leading the development of scalable, production-grade solutions in collaboration with TikTok’s Product Engineering teams to meet the company’s evolving business and client needs. As a technical leader, you will serve as a subject matter expert within the Solutions Engineering organization, providing architectural guidance and promoting best practices in engineering.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of TikTok’s products and innovative technologies, enabling them to identify and develop new commercial opportunities with advertising clients. Building strong relationships with the customer success team is essential to identify potential growth areas and support business objectives. You will be responsible for designing and deploying comprehensive end-to-end systems, including launch strategies, with a focus on long-term maintainability and scalability, supported by proper documentation and testing plans.

This role requires the ability to independently identify stakeholders and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. Cultivating and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders is key, as is leveraging data to influence decision-making by clearly presenting the business value and impact of solutions.

Qualifications

• A university degree or higher in Computer Science or related fields.
• At least five years of experience in software development, technical solutions design, and project delivery.
• Minimum of three years in a technical leadership position.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C/C++, and experience designing API/backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning infrastructure, including model training, deployment, evaluation, tuning, data pipeline processing, and debugging production issues.
• Ability to tailor technical presentations to diverse audiences and communicate complex topics effectively.
• Experience working with advertising technology and handling large-scale data analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mobile app development for iOS and Android platforms.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or Keras.
