G-Research is seeking a talented Low Latency Network Engineer to join our Colo Infrastructure team in London. This role is pivotal as we expand our co-location and low-latency platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building highly available network solutions, ensuring the infrastructure is robust, observable, and engineered for speed and availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement new co-location network solutions tailored to the platform’s requirements.
• Enhance the performance, latency, and throughput of the network infrastructure.
• Manage the lifecycle and monitoring of the Colo Network environment.
• Develop automation tools and operators to build and expand the network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with platform and development teams to establish standards, best practices, and integrate new capabilities.
• Contribute to incident response efforts and ensure production reliability.
• Participate in on-call duties for critical infrastructure components.

Who Are We Looking For?

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing high-performance, low-latency, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure solutions. Key qualifications include:

• Proven experience in designing and constructing highly available, mission-critical networks.
• Expertise in optimizing low latency networks, including layer 1 switching, RF, LEO, and dark fibre solutions.
• Knowledge of timing solutions such as GPS, PTP, PPS, White Rabbit, and NTP.
• Experience in building packet capture and analysis solutions, including optical taps and SPAN.
• Ability to conduct product evaluations and testing.
• Experience in establishing networks and market connectivity within exchange collocations.
• Familiarity with evaluating WAN connectivity options for optimal diversity and latency.
• Proficiency in multicast configuration and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of automation tools, including Git, Python, Jenkins, and Ansible.
