Join G-Research as a Machine Learning Research Intern in a dynamic 10-week summer program designed for aspiring machine learning practitioners. This internship offers a unique opportunity to delve into the world of quantitative finance, where you will tackle complex problems and contribute to meaningful research projects.

The internship runs from June 21 to August 27, 2027, with working hours from 09:00 to 17:30, based in Central London. Interns will gain hands-on experience in applying machine learning techniques to real-world financial data, supported by extensive computing resources and mentorship from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 10-week summer internship program focused on machine learning applications in quantitative finance.
• Engage in a meaningful research project that involves innovative mathematical and computational analysis.
• Collaborate with a mentor who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the internship.
• Present research findings to senior management at the conclusion of the internship.
• Utilize advanced computing resources to explore and develop machine learning models.

Requirements

• Possess a post-graduate degree in Machine Learning or a related field, or have commercial experience in developing machine learning algorithms.
• PhD level study is preferred, but exceptional candidates with a strong track record in data science competitions like Kaggle will be considered.
• Demonstrate experience in deep learning, reinforcement learning, non-convex optimization, Bayesian non-parametrics, natural language processing, or approximate inference.
• Exhibit strong reasoning skills and mathematical ability to create custom models tailored to specific data challenges.
• Have proficient programming skills, particularly in Python, and experience with libraries such as scikit-learn, SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, and Jupyter.
• An interest in finance is essential, although prior experience in the finance sector is not mandatory.
