About the Role

As part of Liberty Globalâ??s Corporate Tax Strategy & Planning team, you will play a key role in advising on tax matters across the company’s global operations. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed research on complex tax issues, offering practical guidance to various business units, and ensuring that tax considerations are integrated into business models and strategic initiatives. You will work closely with teams across Finance, Treasury, Legal, and M&A to support critical projects and transactions, ensuring compliance with evolving tax legislation and identifying opportunities and risks associated with legislative changes.

You will also lead or assist with tax compliance activities, including reporting and forecasting, while maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors to ensure smooth operations and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer strategic advice on corporate tax matters across Liberty Globalâ??s international business units and initiatives.
  • Research and analyze complex tax issues, providing clear and practical guidance for business projects.
  • Support the development of business models by accurately assessing tax implications.
  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Legal, and M&A teams on significant projects and transactions.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, advising the company on potential impacts, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead or support tax compliance, reporting, and forecasting activities, managing relationships with key stakeholders and external advisors.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in corporate tax, with a strong grasp of UK and/or international tax principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical tax issues and translate them into practical advice.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to own projects, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • A professional tax qualification such as CTA or equivalent.
  • Experience working across multiple tax workstreams within an international context.
  • Support for complex corporate transactions or business transformation projects.
  • An interest in expanding expertise in corporate tax strategy and planning.
  • Experience collaborating with external advisors and cross-functional teams.
