Capgemini is seeking an experienced professional to take on the role of Manager or Senior Manager specializing in Smart Plant, Aerospace, and Defence manufacturing transformation. This position involves leading large-scale initiatives that leverage Industry 4.0 technologies to revolutionize manufacturing processes for leading aerospace and defense organizations. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including Manufacturing Directors, Operations Leaders, Supply Chain Executives, and Digital Transformation heads, providing strategic guidance and driving impactful change.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee major transformation projects focused on Smart Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and digital operations within top aerospace and defense firms.
- Act as a strategic partner to high-level clients, helping them develop and implement manufacturing strategies that enhance production ramp-up, operational efficiency, supply chain resilience, and quality standards.
- Conduct comprehensive manufacturing assessments, diagnostics, and value discovery exercises to identify opportunities for improving throughput, productivity, quality, costs, and agility.
- Create detailed transformation roadmaps, operational models, and business cases that secure executive buy-in and investment.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across strategy, engineering, data science, AI, cloud, and technology domains to achieve business objectives at scale.
- Manage the deployment of Industry 4.0 solutions such as MES, Industrial IoT, AI analytics, digital work instructions, connected worker systems, and digital twin technology.
- Contribute to the development of Capgeminiâ??s offerings related to Physical and Agentic AI in manufacturing contexts.
- Ensure that transformation programs deliver measurable operational and financial benefits, maximizing client value.
- Mentor and coach consultants and senior team members, fostering skill development and leadership within the team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client executives, identifying opportunities for further engagement and long-term partnerships.
- Lead complex stakeholder environments, aligning diverse business, operational, and technological interests around a shared vision for transformation.
- Contribute to market-facing thought leadership, including proposals, whitepapers, and industry insights, to position Capgemini as a leader in manufacturing innovation.
Candidate Profile
- Significant experience managing manufacturing or supply chain transformation projects within the aerospace and defense sectors, either in industry or consulting.
- Deep understanding of discrete manufacturing operations, including production systems, assembly, industrialization, ramp-up, quality management, and supply chain performance.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects from strategy through to benefits realization.
- Strong familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies such as MES, IIoT, AI, digital work instructions, and connected worker solutions.
- Track record of delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality, lead times, and operational costs.
- Excellent business case development skills, with experience in shaping and securing stakeholder support for transformation initiatives.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing senior executives and operational leaders.
- Strong analytical skills to convert data insights into practical recommendations.
- Leadership experience in managing and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Passion for operational excellence, innovation, and leveraging emerging technologies for sustainable manufacturing improvements.
- Ability to work effectively within matrix organizations and contribute to propositions and business development activities.
- Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
