Capgemini Invent is seeking a highly experienced professional to join their Energy Transition & Utilities practice as a Managing Consultant or Senior Manager. This role involves leading advisory, consulting, and transformation projects within the energy sector, focusing on energy markets, regulation, and systems operations. The successful candidate will work closely with clients across various sub-sectors such as energy networks, retail, central markets, water, and nuclear, helping to shape and implement major technical and regulatory changes.

In this position, you will be responsible for guiding the development and assessment of technical modifications to central energy systems, ensuring these changes align with regulatory standards and industry best practices. You will oversee the implementation of industry-wide changes from a central code body perspective, coordinating efforts among affected parties to facilitate smooth transitions. Providing expert advice to senior clients and industry stakeholders on technical and regulatory issues will be a key part of your role, translating policy and market developments into practical solutions that support industry transformation.

Your leadership will extend to engaging with industry parties through training and support initiatives, developing strategies to improve consumer outcomes and overall system efficiency. You will manage complex workstreams and multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accountability for quality and delivery in dynamic environments. Additionally, you will contribute to broader sector initiatives, including building client relationships, supporting proposals, and fostering team development.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the UK energy market regulation, with SME-level expertise in industry systems and the ability to interpret regulatory changes into actionable insights. Experience with energy system operations, including physical infrastructure, data flows, and contractual agreements, is essential, gained through work with transmission and distribution operators or significant delivery partners. Familiarity with central market organizations such as government, regulators, and market bodies is also required.

Leadership and management skills are critical, with experience in managing complex technical change initiatives, digital technology projects, and operational improvements. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, lead large change programs, and manage multi-party environments effectively.
