Capgemini Invent is seeking a highly experienced professional to join their Energy Transition & Utilities team as a Managing Consultant or Senior Manager. This role involves leading and shaping major advisory, consulting, and transformation projects within the energy sector, focusing on energy markets, regulation, and systems operations. The successful candidate will work with clients across various sub-sectors including energy networks, retail, central markets, water, and nuclear, contributing to the sector’s transformation driven by significant investments and sector evolution.
Role Overview
In this position, you will leverage your expertise in UK energy market systems and regulation, either from consulting or industry experience within central bodies, energy suppliers, or network operators. Your responsibilities will include managing technical and regulatory change initiatives, providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders, and translating policy and technical developments into practical industry solutions. You will lead engagement activities, develop strategies to improve consumer and system outcomes, and oversee continuous service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and assess technical modifications to central energy systems, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
- Lead the implementation of industry changes from a central code perspective, coordinating with affected parties.
- Offer expert guidance to senior clients and industry stakeholders on regulatory and technical issues.
- Translate policy, regulatory, and technical updates into actionable solutions to address industry challenges.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including training and support for industry participants and senior leaders.
- Design and execute strategies aimed at enhancing energy consumer outcomes and overall system performance.
- Drive initiatives for ongoing service improvement, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Lead complex workstreams and multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accountability for project outcomes in dynamic environments.
- Contribute to broader sector initiatives, including client relationship development, proposal support, and practice growth.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive knowledge of UK energy market regulation, with SME-level expertise in industry systems and policy implications.
- Experience with energy system operations, including physical infrastructure, data management, and contractual frameworks.
- Background working with government, regulators, system operators, and energy market participants.
- Proven leadership in managing complex technical change and digital transformation projects.
- Strong relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders and clients.
- Experience leading large change programs and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Digital systems experience that integrates business and technology solutions within energy markets.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, deliver results, and support team development.
