Capgemini Invent is seeking a highly experienced professional to join their Energy Transition & Utilities sector as a Managing Consultant or Senior Manager. This role involves leading advisory, consulting, and transformation projects within the energy industry, focusing on regulation, market systems, and operational change. The successful candidate will work closely with clients involved in energy networks, retail, central markets, water, and nuclear sectors, leveraging their expertise to shape and implement technical and regulatory changes that support industry-wide transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and assessment of technical modifications to central energy systems, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage the effective implementation of industry changes from a central code body perspective, coordinating across multiple stakeholders and organizations.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior clients and industry stakeholders on technical and regulatory matters, translating policy and market developments into practical solutions.
  • Lead engagement, training, and support initiatives for industry participants and senior decision-makers to facilitate understanding and adoption of new systems and regulations.
  • Design strategies to improve energy consumer outcomes and enhance overall system performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee complex workstreams and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and achievement of desired outcomes in dynamic environments.
  • Contribute to sector-wide initiatives, including client relationship development, proposal support, revenue growth, and talent development.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive knowledge of UK energy market regulation, with SME-level expertise in industry systems and the ability to interpret and apply regulatory changes practically.
  • Experience in energy system operations, including familiarity with physical infrastructure, data management, and contractual frameworks, gained through work with Transmission Operators, System Operators, or Distribution Network Operators.
  • Proven track record working with or within organizations across the regulated energy sector, including government, regulators, and market bodies.
  • Strong leadership and consulting skills, capable of managing complex change programs and guiding teams through ambiguity.
  • Knowledge of modern architecture frameworks and digital technologies relevant to energy systems.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, resolve issues proactively, and lead large-scale change initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams and collaborating across organizational boundaries to deliver results.
  • Digital and systems expertise, with an emphasis on integrating technology solutions into business processes.
