Capgemini Invent is seeking a highly experienced professional to join their Energy Transition & Utilities team as a Managing Consultant or Senior Manager. This role involves leading advisory, consulting, and transformation projects within the energy sector, focusing on energy markets, regulation, and system operations. The successful candidate will work closely with clients involved in energy networks, retail, central markets, water, and nuclear sectors, leveraging their deep understanding of UK energy market systems and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the development and assessment of technical changes to central energy industry systems, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
- Manage the implementation of industry changes from a central code body perspective, coordinating with relevant parties to ensure smooth execution.
- Offer expert advice to senior clients and industry stakeholders on technical and regulatory issues, translating policy and market developments into practical solutions.
- Lead engagement activities, including training and support, to facilitate industry-wide adoption of new systems and processes.
- Design strategies to improve energy consumer outcomes and enhance overall system performance.
- Drive continuous service improvement initiatives within the energy sector.
- Oversee complex projects and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes and timely delivery in dynamic environments.
- Contribute to sector-wide initiatives by developing client relationships, supporting proposals, and mentoring colleagues.
Candidate Profile
- Deep knowledge of UK energy market regulation, with SME-level expertise in industry systems and the ability to interpret regulatory changes into actionable insights.
- Experience in energy system operations, including understanding of physical networks, data flows, and contractual agreements, gained through work with transmission and distribution operators or similar organizations.
- Background working with or for government bodies, regulators, system operators, market entities, or energy suppliers involved in regulated markets.
- Strong leadership and consulting skills, capable of managing complex change programs, applying modern architecture frameworks, and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale change initiatives, oversee digital technology requirements, and manage multidisciplinary teams across organizational boundaries.
- Experience in operational improvements and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on delivering tangible results.
- Digital and systems expertise, with the capacity to bridge business needs with technological solutions.
- Leadership qualities to navigate ambiguity, shape strategic initiatives, and ensure successful project delivery.
