As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of your site to meet customer demand. You will lead a team focused on maintaining safety, efficiency, and high-quality standards, while also managing multiple projects aimed at boosting productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing.
- Analyze and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity levels.

- Analyze shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence.
- Collaborate with management-level colleagues to standardize shift practices.
A Day in the Life
Your work will involve a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on maximizing productivity. You will prioritize fostering a culture of safety and maintaining quality and performance standards during shifts. Your daily tasks will vary, encompassing team management, operational responsibilities, process improvements, and large-scale operational contingency tasks. Additionally, you will serve as a role model and mentor for new managers.
About the Team
The Customer Fulfilment (CF) team is the foundation of Amazon, having evolved from a small group of booksellers to a sophisticated global team handling over 1.5 million orders daily. This team is essential to our business, enabling us to diversify across new regions and services. Utilizing emerging technology, we continuously seek ways to expand our product range and ensure quick, affordable delivery. The CF team plays a pivotal role in managing dynamic inventory and facilitating rapid deliveries around the clock.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in people management.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience using data to influence business decisions.
- Strong English-language communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor’s degree, or an advanced degree, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with experience at Amazon or its affiliates.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma tools, Lean techniques, PMP, or similar standards.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, import/export operations, or data entry/data administration.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional context.
