Capgemini is seeking an experienced Non-Conformance Design Engineer to join their engineering design team based in Bristol. This role involves assessing and resolving engineering non-conformances related to aerospace or marine propulsion systems. The successful candidate will develop technically sound dispositions, produce comprehensive engineering reports, and work closely with specialists to ensure all designs meet required standards, procedures, and manufacturing best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate non-conformance issues by reviewing concessions, deviation permits, and Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs), providing clear technical justifications and recommendations for disposition.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including assessment reports, and review engineering drawings while performing calculations such as tolerancing and bolt checks.
- Collaborate with non-conformance specialists and apply Design for Manufacture (DfM) principles to develop practical, compliant engineering solutions.
Candidate Profile
This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in designing aero engines or marine propulsion systems, with a strong understanding of complex propulsion components. Candidates should possess knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace or marine engineering and familiarity with non-conformance management, concession procedures, and engineering approval workflows. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, especially when working with multidisciplinary teams including stress and materials engineers. The ability to deliver accurate solutions within tight deadlines is crucial.
