Patent Litigator Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of our patent litigation product, Charts, while working with a dynamic and talented legal team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the patent litigation capabilities while building the Charts product.
• Conduct thorough infringement and validity analyses across various technical domains.
• Provide strategic recommendations to clients regarding litigation risks using the platform.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and AI teams to enhance litigation workflows within Charts.
• Support the transition from patent prosecution to litigation throughout the intellectual property lifecycle.
• Contribute to product development by integrating litigation expertise into new platform features.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as an associate or senior associate in patent litigation at reputable firms.
• A technical background, preferably as a patent attorney who has transitioned into patent litigation, with no specific technical field requirement.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, showcasing high levels of intelligence and initiative.
• Experience working at elite patent litigation firms such as Quinn Emanuel or Kirkland & Ellis.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the capability to dissect complex legal and technical issues.
• Willingness to be based in either New York City or London.
• Experience with both life sciences and non-life sciences patent matters is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning tools in legal workflows is advantageous.
• Prior experience in a startup or in-house legal team is desirable.
• Dual qualification or experience with cross-border patent disputes is a bonus.
