Capgemini Invent is seeking a highly experienced Payments Advisory Director to lead strategic consulting and project management initiatives within the payments sector. This role involves developing innovative payment solutions, assessing market trends, and supporting the creation and marketing of new service offerings. The successful candidate will mentor teams, drive sales efforts across the UK, and contribute to business development activities such as client relationship building, proposals, and industry representation at major events.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance and oversee projects from conception to implementation in the payments industry.
• Design strategies and develop solutions for traditional and emerging payment topics, including cards, instant payments, CBDC, crypto, and trade finance.
• Evaluate current trends and technologies, deriving relevant implications for clients and incorporating these insights into solutions.
• Create new service offerings and support their marketing efforts.
• Lead and develop a team of consultants, fostering innovation and expertise in payments topics.
• Actively pursue sales opportunities by building a strong UK payments network, attending industry events, and representing Capgemini Invent at conferences and panels.
• Contribute to business development through client relationship management, proposal leadership, and participation in pitches and events.
• Engage in internal initiatives such as developing thought leadership, whitepapers, and practice development activities.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through training and certifications.
• Lead project delivery teams to ensure successful execution and high client satisfaction.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive knowledge of current payment processing trends and regulatory requirements, including customer acquisition, issuance, open banking, and fintech collaborations.
• Familiarity with the payment ecosystem, including DeFi, blockchain, CBDC, stablecoins, crypto, and cloud-based payments, and understanding their impacts.
• Strong IT affinity, with enjoyment of strategic analysis, managing innovative projects, and solving complex challenges.
• Established UK client relationships and a successful sales record leveraging these networks.
• Experience managing teams and multiple complex programs involving senior stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Current employment in a leading consulting firm or industry, with a background in consulting preferred.
• Proven ability to develop propositions, deliver solutions, and generate approximately £2 million in consulting revenues at the Director level.
• Ability to operate effectively within a matrix organization and enlist support from peers for sales and delivery activities.
