Physical Design Engineer Overview

An established technology company located in Cambridge is seeking a Physical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative environment, contributing to the entire chip development lifecycle, from initial design stages to silicon delivery and product launch.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team, allowing for broad exposure and the chance to make a significant impact on product development. Responsibilities include:

• Participating in the complete physical implementation process, from netlist to GDSII.
• Engaging in floorplanning, power planning, placement and optimization, clock tree synthesis, routing, and physical verification closure.
• Conducting timing closure and static timing analysis.
• Performing logic synthesis, equivalence checking, and place-and-route methodologies.
• Working on complex ASIC or SoC designs within advanced semiconductor environments.

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• A strong academic background in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least two years of industry experience in Physical Design or Physical Implementation.
• A solid understanding of modern ASIC implementation flows and methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
