The Role

As a System Test Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to develop and verify neural network hardware. You will design and implement automated testing frameworks, develop test cases, and work within advanced emulation environments to validate hardware performance. Your efforts will help bridge the gap between silicon development and deployment, ensuring robust system validation and faster time-to-market. You will also work closely with architecture, design, verification, and software teams to optimize workflows and use cases, supporting design bring-up, debugging, feature validation, and overall system validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build automated test environments and develop test cases to verify hardware functionality and performance.
• Create and deploy sophisticated emulation environments for neural accelerators, supporting system validation efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to optimize verification workflows and troubleshoot simulation/emulation issues.
• Work with EDA vendors to introduce new capabilities, resolve tool issues, and contribute to future tool enhancements.
• Plan and estimate testing tasks realistically, managing complex work packages from conception to completion.

Required Skills and Experience

• Exceptional attention to detail to ensure high-quality verification and minimize bugs.
• Practical experience in creating, debugging, and executing system test environments, including test case development and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with emulation platforms such as ZeBu, Palladium, or Strato.
• Familiarity with hardware description languages like SystemVerilog or Verilog.
• Experience working with EDA tools, including vendor collaboration for capability enhancements.
• Ability to plan testing efforts and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl for automation purposes.
• Experience with embedded software testing and a practical understanding of machine learning and neural networks.
• Knowledge of performance tuning and analysis techniques for large-scale emulation systems.

Additional Qualities That Will Make You Stand Out

• Experience with requirements management and UVM-based verification environments.
• Familiarity with continuous integration platforms and version control tools like Git.
• Strong scripting skills for workflow automation and diagnostics.
• Practical knowledge of software testing for embedded devices.
