Principal Electrical Engineer Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join the team in Loughborough. This role is integral to the AC Product Development team, focusing on the design and delivery of wiring harnesses and electrical work packages for innovative fuel cell products.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the electrical design and delivery of wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and other electrical work packages for hydrogen fuel cell products.
• Produce high-quality electrical schematics, wiring harness designs, and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks Electrical.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop scalable, production-ready electrical solutions that comply with applicable standards and certification requirements.
• Support the development of system test rigs, ensuring designs take into account circuits, harnesses, bonding, earthing, EMC, and DfX principles.

Key Requirements:

• Hold a BEng, BSc, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Possess industrial experience in electrical design for electro-mechanical products.
• Demonstrate strong experience with SolidWorks Electrical, schematic capture, wiring harness design, and manufacturing documentation.
• Have experience designing to recognized standards, including circuits, harnesses, bonding, earthing, and EMC requirements.
• Exhibit the ability to lead work packages, communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, and deliver projects on time with a strong attention to detail.
