As a Principal Hardware Performance Specialist at Arm, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Arm hardware platform is optimized for excellence across various applications, from mobile devices to high-performance computing environments. Your responsibilities will include managing a diverse hardware catalog and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance performance testing and documentation. You will also work closely with operating system teams and automation specialists to maintain a robust hardware management strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance of the hardware cross-vendor catalog and future hardware roadmap for various platforms including mobile, laptop, workstation, desktop, and server.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create hardware performance testing aligned with representative engineering workloads.
  • Develop and update documentation for server systems and processes that correspond to Arm’s core workloads.
  • Coordinate with operating system teams to ensure hardware can support current and future OS requirements during deployment and maintenance.
  • Work alongside the automation team to ensure hardware management adheres to an Infrastructure as Code philosophy.
  • Promote an ‘Arm on Arm’ approach within the hardware portfolio whenever feasible.
  • Serve as the domain authority for all hardware platforms at Arm.
  • Partner with hardware suppliers to align product roadmaps and ensure a steady supply of hardware resources.
  • Implement a comprehensive hardware management platform that integrates multiple hardware providers.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in hardware benchmarking and optimization within an enterprise setting, with a history of collaborating with hardware partners to create shared roadmaps.
  • Expertise in hardware optimization for both end-user and server environments.
  • Strong understanding of automation in hardware management and benchmarking processes.
  • Experience in hardware selection across various operating systems including Linux, Windows, and Apple.
  • Familiarity with data center hardware management tools from multiple vendors such as HPE OneView, Dell OpenManage, and Fujitsu iRMC.
