Our client, a prominent player in the semiconductor industry, is seeking an experienced Principal Photolithography Process Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and transfer of advanced photolithography processes for photonic devices. This role involves working across research and development as well as high-volume manufacturing to ensure processes meet performance, quality, and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and refine photolithography techniques tailored for photonic applications, ensuring high performance and process stability.
- Support the transition of processes from R&D to large-scale production, facilitating efficient scale-up and implementation.
- Oversee the setup, calibration, maintenance, and operational performance of lithography equipment such as steppers, aligners, and spin coaters to ensure consistent process execution.
- Collaborate with various teams including design, integration, facilities, epitaxy, etching, and testing to ensure seamless process integration and optimization.
- Develop and implement process control protocols, characterization methods, and standards for yield and reliability to optimize manufacturing outputs.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve lithography and process issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Research and adopt new lithography techniques, materials, and technological innovations to stay at the forefront of industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership within R&D projects, managing initiatives aligned with business objectives.
Required Experience & Skills
- PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of experience in photolithography, with a focus on compound semiconductors or photonics technologies.
- Expertise in mask design, resist technology, and operation of cleanroom lithography equipment such as steppers, aligners, and spin coaters.
- Experience with characterization tools including SEM, AFM, and profilometers.
- Strong understanding of photonics and optoelectronic device fabrication, as well as semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical process control, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills to coordinate across technical disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in optoelectronic device fabrication.
- Knowledge of semiconductor process integration and manufacturing workflows.
- Familiarity with industry standards related to optical and photonics manufacturing.
