Bloomberg is seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to oversee the capacity management of its enterprise AI offerings, focusing on how storage and compute resources, particularly tokens, are measured, packaged, and priced as AI workflows grow. This role involves owning the entire capacity model, including desktop allowances, enterprise tiers, pooled capacity arrangements, and response prioritization within the ASKB platform. The successful candidate will define how firms purchase, share, and manage capacity, ensuring flexibility and control over their consumption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of Bloomberg’s AI capacity management strategy, including defining the overall capacity model and structure.
- Manage how capacityâ??storage and tokensâ??is allocated across different tiers and pooled arrangements, and how priority is assigned in responses.
- Design mechanisms for firms to buy, share, and oversee capacity across their user base effectively.
- Implement systems to meter, monitor, and forecast capacity usage at various organizational levels, ensuring data accuracy and timely alerts.
- Shape the inputs that influence capacity pricing and packaging, such as per-user costs, workflow categories, token usage, and scheduling constraints, working closely with finance and product teams.
- Translate capacity requirements into detailed product specifications for engineering teams, ensuring seamless implementation.
- Partner with administrative teams to develop tools that allow firm administrators to view and control their capacity consumption.
- Establish KPIs related to capacity utilization, overage, upsell potential, and subscription revenue, leveraging telemetry data to guide product evolution.
- Engage directly with enterprise clients to understand their capacity management needs and validate the capacity model against real-world usage patterns.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and product teams to align capacity management with broader enterprise objectives and technical capabilities.
- Own decision-making around capacity tiering, metering, and pricing strategies, ensuring they are data-driven and aligned with company goals.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation such as Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to guide engineering and metering teams.
- Work with central admin teams to develop visibility and control features that enable firms to manage their capacity effectively.
- Define and track capacity KPIs, including utilization rates, overage metrics, and revenue from tiered subscriptions, using telemetry to inform strategic decisions.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience in product management within enterprise software, SaaS, or AI platforms, with a history of leading initiatives from start to finish.
- Hands-on experience with consumption-based products such as metering, tiering, quotas, or pooled entitlements.
- Practical knowledge of AI and LLM infrastructure, especially understanding tokens, compute, and storage as cost drivers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to model costs, consumption, and unit economics based on telemetry data.
- Deep understanding of enterprise software administration, governance, and entitlement management.
- Proficiency in creating detailed PRDs and managing cross-functional roadmaps.
- Ability to work collaboratively with commercial and finance teams on packaging and pricing strategies, owning the underlying product features.
- Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Preferred experience with Bloomberg Terminal or Bloomberg enterprise products.
- Experience in pricing or metering AI/LLM usage, especially token-based models.
- Familiarity with SaaS commercial models such as usage-based pricing, pooled entitlements, and tiered plans.
- Experience in developing systems for metering, billing, or capacity management.
- Financial modeling expertise and understanding of unit economics.
- Knowledge of financial markets and how regulated institutions evaluate technological solutions.
