Valtech is seeking a highly experienced Programme Manager to lead large-scale digital transformation initiatives for a diverse range of clients. This role involves managing programmes from initial pre-sales activities through to project delivery, ensuring alignment with client strategic goals and delivering maximum value. The Programme Manager will work closely with Delivery Managers to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of multiple projects within the programme, coordinating efforts across various teams to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of extensive programmes, guiding projects from inception to completion while maintaining strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with Delivery Managers to ensure project outcomes support overall client objectives.
• Supervise project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring milestones are met and quality standards are upheld.
• Coordinate cross-team efforts to maximize operational efficiency and streamline workflows.
• Partner with clients and internal teams to refine processes or develop new methodologies that enhance project delivery.
• Manage the programme budget meticulously, tracking expenses and implementing measures to optimize resource use.
• Coach team members and clients on Agile practices and principles to foster effective delivery methodologies.
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks to ensure compliance and project oversight.
• Lead client engagement activities, including proposal development during the bid phase and overseeing project delivery to ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain clear communication channels with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives and C-suite leaders.
• Build and lead multi-disciplinary teams, managing performance and budgets effectively.
• Implement continuous planning, forecasting, and risk mitigation strategies to adapt to project uncertainties.
• Manage dependencies, identify constraints, and resolve obstacles proactively to keep projects on track.
• Support business development by understanding client needs, designing tailored approaches, and contributing to proposal writing.

Candidate Requirements

• Extensive experience managing digital transformation programmes with budgets between £5 million and £10 million, within client-facing digital or software environments.
• A solid background in digital or software delivery disciplines, with a proven track record of successful project outcomes.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including CXOs.
• Proficiency in applying various delivery methodologies such as Agile, Lean UX, Lean Startup, Design Thinking, and Design Sprints, tailoring approaches to specific challenges.
• Experience in supporting business growth through client engagement, needs assessment, and proposal development.
• Ability to develop compelling proposals, including planning, cost estimation, and articulating value propositions.
• Familiarity with delivery frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, and DAD, with opinions on their applicability.
• Proven leadership skills, with a history of making impactful contributions within organizations.
• Strong strategic thinking and adaptability to different project and team contexts.
• Experience in acquiring new clients and projects by understanding client needs and designing tailored solutions.
